Being an empath is really hard sometimes, but it is a beautiful gift that allows us to be the moon on someone's darkest night, especially if you are also a healer. But what happens when an empath is dealing with their own dark place? Detachment. Sharing the gift of unconditional love and encouragement with others is something I'll never deny the world. But it is hard sometimes when I don't feel I have the strength to shine my light. In these times, I rely on another gift; the gift of being able to detach and compartmentalize my emotions. By setting our own pain aside, we are able to focus our attention on being there for someone else. However, detachment taken to the extreme and used as a constant escape, can be detrimental. We still have to work on ourselves and make sure we are full. After all, we cannot pour from an empty cup. So all you empathics out there, make sure you are taking care of you too.

Do you ever have days, weeks, months, or even years where everything seems to fall apart and nothing ever goes right? You know, those times when you feel like everything you touch turns to sh*t. I know I certainly do. In these times we are hardest on ourselves. We beat ourselves up and may even spiral into deep depression. That dark wolf seems much too big to face, and we live in fear that things will never get better. Some of us even accept that this is just the way life is going to be. "It is what it is", we tell ourselves. It is in these shadowy times that we need love the most: self-love. If we do not love ourselves at the soul level, we lose the capacity to give love as well. We also lose the capacity to receive love (in any form) from others because we feel undeserving and unworthy. When we begin to love ourselves including the flaws, and realize our worth, we allow healing to commence.
It is often very difficult and scary to face the wolf within, but in exploring the shadow side of ourselves, we can learn a great deal, not only about our weaknesses, but also our strengths. We learn about our gifts and how to develop them, and share them with the world. We finally begin to punch holes in the wall we've built to keep the pain at bay. It feels amazing to break through the wall that we've built around ourselves. It feels amazing to be able to give and receive love again. If this is you, I encourage you to face the wolf. Learn to love again. Break through the wall. LOVE YOURSELF. Do you need some love and encouragement? Leave me a comment below. You are not alone. Brightest blessings, Teigan Draig Facebook.com/thewitchspyramid I was meditating on the Dragon a few days ago and she had a short but powerful message for me that I'd like to share with you.
"When the wiles of this world are no longer fulfilling, one must seek introspection. Inner peace is not found in this outside world, but within one's own soul. Look there and see what you will find." So many times we look to society, and the pleasures and temptations of the outside world to find fulfillment, and yet we remain shackled to disappointment and malcontent. That is because true inner peace and happiness cannot be found in the outside world. We must look inward to the very core of our souls. We must stop just scratching the surface of superficial pleasures and ponder our own identity; our Higher Self, and seek to truly know who we are. Only then can we open the door to enlightenment. If you are struggling with the search for true happiness, I encourage you to take the Dragon's words to heart. Let them feed your soul and really sink in. Brightest Dragon blessing, Teigan Draig Honoring the Dragon in everyday life.
There are many ways to feel and honor the dragon in everyday life, even in the mundane. As you go about your day thank the dragon for being with you and protecting you. Spend a few moments just feeling the dragon by your side and in your own energy. Go outside barefoot and feel the energy of the dragon in the earth. Look for the dragon in the natural word around you; in the trees, grass, flowers, in the air around you. Meditate on the dragon and seek it's transforming wisdom. Heed its guidance. Learn to recognize the dragon's presence in all you do from going about your daily chores to spending time with friends and family. Allow the dragon's energy to become a part of you. Then you can learn to channel it into any task you do. Working with the dragon in even the mundane activities of life is such a beautiful thing. Brightest Dragon blessing, Teigan Draig Dragons are notorious for hoarding treasure, and nothing will attract a Dragon more quickly to your altar than a gemstone bowl...
When working with Dragons its important to choose your stones wisely. The stones don't have to be polished, actually stones have a more natural energy when in their natural state. Each stone gives off individualized vibrations that you may or may not be able to feel. This is why you should handle several stones of the same variety before choosing one. Whether you pick up the stones in nature or you purchase them, make certain that the vibrations feel good to you. Stones attract & draw in the energy of the person or place they come into contact with. This is not always 'good' or 'positive' energy. If the stone attracts you, (If you like the look of it) but it feels wrong somehow, remember, a simple cleansing will remove the majority of negative energies from most stones, unless it's been used for a dark purpose, like a curse or hex. Appropriate stones are set about on the altar to help attract and hold the attention of the Dragons upon which you call. Since circles of stones tend to concentrate and amplify energy raised within their boundaries, using stones set about a candle or even around the edges or at the four cardinal directions of a cast circle will intensify the magickal power the practitioner is creating for manifestation. The Gem Bowl, which should be a regular part of your Sacred Tools when practicing Dragon magick, is an excellent place to keep your collection of stones. If your feelings tell you that a particular stone should be kept apart from the others, and this does happen on occasion, then you should keep these special stones in another bowl or separate container. Another reason for separating a certain stone is if you are programming a crystal. Crystals can be programmed with specific vibrational energies, either deliberately or by being in contact with a person. A programmed crystal should be kept in a separate container, and label the container with the ritual purpose, if you fail to do this, you could use the crystal for a ritual that is not compatible or even in opposition to its programming. Everyone will have their own preferences concerning the stones they choose, and I recommend following your intuition and the guidance of the dragon. The stones I used for dragon magick vary, but some that I use frequently are: Black obsidian Snowflake obsidian Mahogany Obsidian Septarian (dragon stone) Dragon Blood agate Amethyst Clear Quartz Moonstone Hematite Bloodstone Sodalite Crown of Silver Fluorite Golden Rutilated quartz Brightest Dragon blessing, Teigan Draig |
